To familiarize students with the orthopedic physical therapy environment and protocols. Through the introduction and practical application of assessment methods, students will gain an understanding of the differences between normal and abnormal musculoskeletal systems. With hands-on demonstrations and exercises led by instructors, students will learn to apply therapeutic techniques effectively on clinical patients.


In the respiratory and circulatory physical therapy practicum, students learn to practice treatment assessments and techniques, including cardiopulmonary endurance training, respiratory training, postural drainage, fitness conditioning, electrocardiography, percussion therapy, and medical record documentation. They are trained to independently perform assessments and design physical therapy plans for patients with various cardiopulmonary conditions.


Electrotherapy and thermotherapy are commonly used physical agent therapies in the field of physical therapy. The primary function of this lab is to support related course instruction, while after-class hours are also available for student practice and for faculty use in treatments or research projects.



In the neuro and pediatric physical therapy practicum, students learn mat exercises and related therapeutic techniques, which also include training in functional activities, as well as the use of assistive devices and wheelchair operation.
